Hours and Varieties

The Apple Barn is now open every day from noon until 6 p.m. starting Saturday, August 30th. Apple supply and selection is still somewhat limited but the following varieties may be available while supplies last:

• Apples
  • Duchess
  • Lodi
  • Melba
  • Milton
  • Redfree
  • Wealthy
• Cider

  • This week's pressing occurred on Wednesday, August 27th and consists of mainly Lodi and Melba varieties. You can find gallons, half gallons, and pints of cider at many of our markets and at the Apple Barn while supplies last.

The harvest continues to ramp up slowly as Lodi and Melba apples ripen. We are watching the next varieties such as Wealthy and Milton and will hope to harvest the first of those over the next week or two. 

While our Apple Barn in Rochester is closed until Labor Day when more varieties will be available, you can find us at these markets this week:

• Lake Geneva: Thursday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Burlington: Thursdays 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• Greendale: Saturday  8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Madison: DCFM Saturday  6:15 AM to 1:45 PM

This week we hope to pick an increased quantity of Lodi apples and hopefully start to pick the first Melbas as well.

Dane County Late Winter Market

For the next few weeks (until the supply is completely exhausted), we will have apples and cider at the Late Winter Market in Madison which occurs 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Garver Feed Mill, 3241 Garver Green.

Nearing the End of the Season

The harvest this year was a nice one, and although we still have a good variety of apples and a good quantity of cider at the moment, we anticipate running out of apples and closing sales for the season at the Apple Barn after 5pm on Christmas Eve. Check back here for updates, and come and visit while we're still open if you find yourself in our vicinity or if you have a need for apples or cider!
